About Us

Joy Rupe is a Registered Dietitian licensed in the state of Florida and a Certified Dietary Manager. Joy has provided nutrition-focused culinary skills for clients with medical conditions using healthful cooking methods and easily prepared recipes. Other services include food safety courses for food handlers and cooking demonstrations for Hillsborough Country Libraries and local businesses. 

As the former owner-operator of Comfort Cuisine Personal Chef Service (2000 – 2011), Joy served hundreds of families and individuals with in-home meals, small scale catering and culinary classes.  She developed specialized cooking methods for U.S. Air Force flight attendants at MacDill AFB and cooking lessons for children in public and private schools.  In 1999, Joy and her family opened The Empress Tea Room and Galleria in Temple Terrace, Fl, where she trained kitchen and wait staff in operations, safety, and sanitation for the 55-seat operation.   

As a member of the national Chef’s Move to Schools program, Joy implemented an organic garden at Riverhills Elementary School in Temple Terrace, Florida where she taught students about nutrition and organic gardening (2009).
